Abeer Asaad
I am a financial expert with over fourteen years of experience in financial auditing, regulatory compliance, and banking supervision. I hold a master’s degree in Finance and Banking from the Higher Institute of Business Administration (HIBA).
I previously served at the Central Bank of Syria, where I advanced to Head of the Off-Site Banking Supervision Division. In this role, I oversaw the Syrian banking sector across public and private, conventional and Islamic banks, as well as microfinance institutions. I led a team of more than twenty-four auditors, ensuring effective supervision, regulatory compliance, and sound financial governance.
My expertise includes IFRS and IAS standards, Basel frameworks, early warning indicators, risk assessment, internal control systems, and strengthening transparency and supervisory effectiveness.
