Assad’s Regime: Syria’s Trade Deficit Narrows

Syrian Government data indicates that tighter monetary policy and rising trade protectionism are narrowing the chronic trade deficit.

As of August 31, 2023, formal Syrian exports rose 47% year-over-year to €520 million, while imports declined 22% to €2.16 billion.
