In the Syrian conflict, the most heinous crimes were committed by two parties: ISIS and the Assad regime. 

The Assad regime slaughtered countless more innocent lives than the Islamic State. Yet while the free world obliterated ISIS and the communities it touched, it merely offered those suffering from Assad's brutality hugs, political statements, and humanitarian aid.  

Why? Assad never threatened them. His specialty was killing Syrians.
