An order issued by the Syrian military on 1 April 2024 directs all military units to block the delivery of food and medical supplies to the Rukban refugee camp.

The document leaked by Manhal Bareesh for al-Quds al-Araby. Due to its recency (post-Nov 2023), the directive is particularly relevant for the ICJ case initiated by the Dutch and Canadian governments against the Syrian regime's acts of torture and other inhuman treatments within its jurisdiction.

The Syrian Emergency Task Force was among the very few organizations who managed to break the siege recently, with the help of US forces stationed in the region and nearby at the Tanf base.
