Launching the Syria Sanctions Monitor

The Assad regime’s fall in late 2024 reshaped Syria’s political and economic landscape. Sanctions, once aimed at isolating the regime, are now at the center of policy debates on reconstruction, accountability, and economic recovery.
We are pleased to launch our Syria Sanctions Program, including the monthly Syria Sanctions Monitor, which tracks:
• US, EU, UK, and UN sanctions developments
• Regional dynamics and implications
• Legal and regulatory changes
• Emerging private sector trends
The July–August issue covers eight major updates, from the White House’s decision to end broad Syria sanctions under Executive Order 14312 to Google’s removal of Syria from its advertising sanctions list.
Our program provides analysis, policy recommendations, legal aid, and advocacy to help Syrian, regional, and international stakeholders navigate this period of rapid change.
