
Qatar temporarily revived Syria’s southern gas corridor through LNG imports via Aqaba.
From March 2025, LNG shipments arrived in Jordan, were regasified in Aqaba, and pumped through the Arab Gas Pipeline to the Deir Ali plant, supplying about 2 MMCM/D for 50 days.
The grant, valued at USD 63.75 million, generated roughly 400 MWh of electricity per day, easing shortages across southern Syria before the funding shifted to the Kilis–Aleppo route.
