Renewed talks have commenced between Iraq and Syria to connect the two countries by train, which is part of a larger project connecting Shalamcheh in Iran with the Syrian coast.
I highly doubt the project will materialize: if not because of US pressure, then because of the resurgence of ISIS in the desert.
