Exchange Rate Gap Now Narrowest in Five Years

Under immense pressure from researchers, the UN, and donor states, humanitarian transactions are now exchanged into Syrian lira (aka pound, SYP) at a rate only 8% below the black market. This is the narrowest gap since 2019.

This is worth celebrating, at least for now.
